Okay so I know I'm a few days late but still, it's the thought that counts.. right?
So a few months ago I purchased a pair of Deena & Ozzy boots from Urban Outfitters. I thought they were the cutest things ever, and promised myself I would wear them everywhere. The seasons changed and I was ready to rock these bad boys when, much to my disappointment, I put them on and discovered that I looked like a clown in them. Like, literally a clown. They made my feet look huge. I couldn't possibly pull them off with skinny jeans and my go-to sun dress couldn't save me this time. Anyways, I ended up storing them in my closet hoping that the next time I put them on my feet will have magically shrunk my beautiful boots would complete my outfit.
This never happened. A few weeks back I let my pet rat, Kelley Kapur, out of her cage to run around my closet floor. Sounds kind of unsanitary but she's domesticated and clean. When I went to pick her up she was making an appetizer out of my boots!!
So for Earth Day, I've decided to add to my garden by taking my beautiful, ill-fated boots and transforming them into cute pots for my flowers.
1. Find old boots (or new ones that have suffered a premature death)
2. Drill holes in the bottom to drain water
3. Put flowers or plants in them
I'm thinking about spray painting these shoes to give them a more rustic look but we'll see....
